Business Partners

UCP of Greater Cleveland continually looks for new partners in the business community to provide work opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The following is a list of current partners that illustrates how they benefit from employing UCP clients.
XXX
Supported Employment Site established in 2011 at the Aramark Parks and Destinations food service.  Employees work in seasonal food service locations based at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.  There are two utility worker jobs cleaning tables at zoo dining areas, as well as food preparation responsibilities.
Individual Placement Program established in 2010. Employees provide support to dining services at Case Western Reserve University, including scanning of identification cards for admittance to the dining area and light clean up.
Supported Employment Site established in 2006 in the Employee Health Plan Department. Employees work on clerical tasks including assembling multi-part insurance mailings for employees, filing and document shredding, as well as a variety of data entry jobs utilizing Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel. Responsibilities may include updating and verifying employee personal information, verifying dependency status of employees for insurance purposes or entering insurance claims into the system and determining why the health care provider declined a particular claim. Associates may also make telephone calls to insurance holders and providers.  The Cleveland Clinic main campus also became a Project SEARCH partner in 2013.  Student internship job assignments include responsibilities throughout the hospital . Staff supervision of a teacher and UCP job coaches is provided on-site to help students learn job tasks, develop natural supports, and to offer encouragement and support. During these internships, students develop critical work skills, attitudes, and behaviors & improve work tolerance, while developing a work history, leading to permanent competitive employment.
Supported Employment Site established in 1998. Located in the Rainforest and the Front Gate of the Zoo for the Guest Services Department, employees take tickets of visitors, sign in members, check member passes, fold maps, direct visitors, count visitors, perform duties in special exhibits, and perform cross-walk duties. Employees also work in the Human Resources and Marketing offices of the Metroparks Administration doing general office work such as copying and filing, metering packages to determine postage fees, measuring and making copies of media clips, and preparing mailings.
Outsourcing Partner in the Organizational Employment Program. Employees complete data entry using Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.
Event Network is a seasonal site established in 2012 as an Organizational Employment Program partner.  Employees work in food service positions managed by Event Network throughout the Cleveland Metropark Zoo.
Supported Employment Site established in 2003. Located throughout the Corporate Headquarters, employees complete duties in the Commercial Credit department’s file room, including creating, organizing and managing personal and business loan files, as well as document management. Employees in the Mortgage Department are responsible for organizing, managing and processing home loan applications. Two employees are placed in the mailroom where they sort incoming and outgoing mail, organize mailbags and navigate the banking center to distribute and pick up interoffice and outgoing mail, and one individual works as a general receptionist in the administrative area. Fifth Third Bank is also the home of UCP’s Interface clerical training program that helps prepare individuals for general office employment.

Individual Placement Program and outsourcing partner in Organizational Employment Program. One employee assists with the assembly of baseball caps for the Cleveland-based manufacturer of promotional items.

Outsourcing Partner in the Organizational Employment Program.
Supported Employment Site established in 2009. One employee is assigned mailroom tasks throughout the Lubrizol campus in Brecksville. Responsibilities include sorting and delivering mail, weighing packages for shipping companies, operating the postage meter, and performing miscellaneous clerical tasks.
Supported Employment Site established in 2012 as the host employer of a Project SEARCH site.  Staff supervision of a School District teacher and UCP job coach is provided on-site to help students learn job tasks, develop natural supports, and to offer encouragement and support.  Students work at a variety of internships throughout the employment site.  During these internships, students develop critical work skills, attitudes, and behaviors & improve work tolerance, while developing a work history, leading to permanent competitive employment.

Individual Placement Program. One employee provides janitorial and cleaning services for a full-service private club and restaurant.
Supported Employment Site established in 2011 as the host employer of a Project SEARCH site. Student internship job assignments include library aide, receptionist, greenhouse attendant, arts center assistant, maintenance helper, custodial helper, grounds helper, salad bar attendant, dishwasher. Staff supervision of an Elyria City School District instructor and paraprofessional, as well as a UCP job coach is provided on-site to help consumers learn job tasks, develop natural supports, and to offer encouragement and support. During these internships, students develop critical work skills, attitudes, and behaviors & improve work tolerance, while developing a work history, leading to permanent competitive employment.

MERCY REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER LORAIN
Supported Employment Site established in 2012 as the host employer of a Project SEARCH site. Student internship job assignments include a variety of positions throughout the hospital. Staff supervision of a School District teacher and UCP job coach is provided on-site to help students learn job tasks, develop natural supports, and to offer encouragement and support. During these internships, students develop critical work skills, attitudes, and behaviors & improve work tolerance, while developing a work history, leading to permanent competitive employment.

Outsourcing Partner in the Organizational Employment Program. Employees package felt washers for point of purchase sale.
Supported Employment Site established in 2000. Employees assemble, package and bag various plumbing products and label boxes for shipping.
Supported Employment Site established in 2005. Located in the Drain Department of the distribution center, employees complete light assembly, packaging and material handling of various plumbing parts.
Outsourcing Partner in the Organizational Employment Program.
Supported Employment Site established in 2010 as the host employer of a Project SEARCH site.  Student internship job assignments include storeroom assistant, painter’s assistant, data entry clerk (Health Information Services), rehabilitation therapy utility person, ER attendant and coffee shop clerk. Staff supervision of a Parma School District teacher and UCP job coach is provided on-site to help students learn job tasks, develop natural supports, and to offer encouragement and support. During these internships, students develop critical work skills, attitudes, and behaviors & improve work tolerance, while developing a work history, leading to permanent competitive employment.

Supported Employment Site established in 2004. Employees work in Bank Operations, including accounts receivable, returns/exceptions, statement prep, item processing, and image retrieval, completing data entry, mailing, inventory, spoiled postage and various other clerical/administrative tasks. They also perform lockbox verification, check verification, check de-qualifying, sort incoming accounts and mail preparation.

Supported Employment Site established in 2006 as well as an Outsourcing Partner for the Organizational Employment Program. Located in the production department, employees perform quality control functions, assemble boxes and package and shrink wrap shipments of over-the-counter medications. One individual also is employed full-time cleaning the Reese building.
