RESIDENTIAL SERVICES - EDENDALE HOUSE & MEMPHIS HOUSE
Edendale House and Memphis House are barrier-free group homes, each accommodating eight adults with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. Memphis House serves individuals with significant medical challenges in addition to their disabilities. An RN is on-call 24 hours a day, and makes frequent visits to each resident to provide assessment and coordination of medical care. LPNs, State-Tested Nursing Assistants and trained direct care workers provide staffing.
Residents are encouraged to participate in outside activities including work, school, recreation and volunteerism, all of which help develop decision-making and daily living skills and enhance self-reliance. The ultimate goal of this residential program is to help individuals to live as independently as possible within the community. A team of trained staff and professionals provides 24-hour assistance, skill development, support and supervision to group home residents at the sites in Cleveland Heights and Brooklyn. Physicians, psychologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language therapists and dieticians perform evaluations and make recommendations on an as-needed basis.
