Supported Employment

Supported employment sites utilize a group of individuals working together in a community setting with continual support from an on-site UCP supervisor.  UCP contracts with area businesses  to develop work opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Client workers are employees of UCP, receive an hourly wage, accrue vacation and short-term leave and receive paid holidays.  Companies are then billed for wages, as well as administrative and benefit fees.

Prior to placement, participants are pre-screened, interviewed and undergo a situational assessment to evaluate job match and skills.  Work adjustment periods are also available to assist individuals in adapting to work schedules and demands.  During work adjustment, there is no charge to the host employer.
