Brennan

IMG_3888When four-year-old Brennan first came to UCP in 2014, he would scream when therapists tried to work with him, was not able to play because he could not move about on his own and refused to engage with the people around him. His progress within the past year, especially after attending the 2015 Summer STEPS intensive therapy program, has been amazing. Therapists have been working with him to develop core strength, so he is now able to roll over, army crawl, and interact with people and objects around him since he is more mobile. The therapists comment about how he smiles when he sees a familiar face, loves to explore his environment and has learned to communicate with others. Just recently, he was finally able to play with his cousins for the first time in his life! His parents are able to use the home care plans that the therapists created so that his skills can be carried over into his first year in school, which he began this fall. This is just the beginning of Brennan’s journey to more inclusion, productivity and independence because of the therapy he’s receiving at UCP. Brennan is just one story of over 1,100 clients’ whose lives have been improved because of the services provided by UCP of Greater Cleveland.
