Brett

McGriggBrett began working with UCP of Greater Cleveland in the Project SEARCH Program at the Cleveland Clinic in 2013, after he graduated from John Adams High School. He entered the program with a goal of improving his soft skills and gaining hard work skills in order to help him find competitive employment. Brett participated in three internships at the Cleveland Clinic including two that were clerical in nature and a third that involved sterilization of hospital equipment. Brett excelled in all three internships but demonstrated an exceptional skill level in clerical work after mastering the use of a complex Cleveland Clinic computer system within a couple of weeks (a system that employees are typically trained on over the course of three months). After graduating from Project SEARCH in May of 2014, Brett earned a position with Townsend Group in downtown Cleveland. He is now a Clerical Assistant for Townsend and his duties include supporting the large number of staff in performing clerical functions, maintaining the copying and printing areas, troubleshooting printing and copying malfunctions and preparing conference rooms for upper-level business conferences. He has been successfully employed with Townsend for a year and a half.
